Maybe you know, maybe you don't! But this last year after being involved in missions for a little over five years now I took my first sabbatical. I went back home to Manitoba Canada to spend time with family, friends and with as many people that support me. The goal being to reconnect and express my gratitude for joining with me in missions! Also sharing some exciting testimonies to know what God has been doing.
I returned back to Arco, Italy on August 14th to continue in the work God has called me to here. But this season looks different for me and I'd like to invite you into this new thing. But first let me share quickly what the last five years in missions have consisted of for me...
In summery
For the last five years as I've been serving with YWAM I've always been involved with running/staffing Discipleship Training Schools. This has been amazing to see so many young people fall more in love with Jesus! I've been able to see and walk with over 100 young people in their relationship to Jesus. These only being the people in the schools I've met and not including all the people I've met in other countries along the way. All this being said it's been amazing and God has shown me Himself through the people I've met and I've been able to show God to them as well! But like I said, for this upcoming year something new has come...
So whats new?
In some sense not much has changed, I'm still serving with Ywam and we as a movement are passionate about seeing people live in the fullness of God! So whats new is that before I left for Canada, the leadership team here asked me to consider joining the "core team" (aka our leadership team). In doing this it was proposed that I join in leading alongside one other person our Global Missions team, in charge of all trainings here. The trainings being our Discipleship Training schools and other schools we run and are hoping to start here in the future.
After time in Canada I really felt God confirming this in me. I'm passionate about seeing young people trained, equipped and sent out to live in their callings God has given them. So with this new title I felt like God was giving me more freedom to work in the calling He has already given me.
Whats the future look like?
This question truly God only knows, but I'll share some hopes and desires I have and would like to be working towards.
God has been putting worship and prayer as a main focus on my heart recently and I'd like to start moving towards seeing how we can be starting a worship and prayer movement here at Ywam Trentino.
This year we're dreaming of starting more training schools! We'd love to make more space for people to come, be discipled and released into their callings.
Thanks for reading!
If you've read until the end I want to thank you in your support in this journey of seeing the whole world come to know Jesus as Lord and saviour of their lives. Thats ultimately the end goal and why I feel called to the work I am currently doing.
If you'd like to join me with supporting the mission financially by giving monthly please click on the link at the top of my website to give, this would be a huge blessing! I live of the generosity of people who support the mission God has called me for and every donation makes a huge difference! PLease also join me in prayer as supporting through prayer is incredibly important! Thanks so much!
Blessings, Lucas
